Some Facts about Flea Dips for Dogs and Cats

Are you a pet owner and worried about fleas and ticks making your dogs or cats uncomfortable and unhappy? If yes, then you would need to take adequate steps to protect your loved pets from the same. You can use flea dips for dogs and cats and control the fleas and ticks your pets are inadvertently exposed to. There are some topical and oral medications available in this domain and you can talk to your vets to make the most of the best and most potent options.

The actual use of the flea dips for dogs and cats is quite interesting. The animals are soaked to the skin with the diluted dips, which are then allowed to dry on the skin. The use of these dips is ideally carried out under the supervision or as directed by a qualified veterinarian. The dips should not be used too frequently or on puppies and kittens that are less than 6 weeks of age.

As a pet owner, you can follow the instructions laid down by the manufacturer pertaining to use and disposal to get the desired results.  Make sure that there are no fleas and ticks in the immediate environment, such as the bedding of your dog or cat, or the yard where it stays. You can use carpet powders and sprays to eliminate the fleas and ticks from these areas and stop the growth of new ones. Repeat these treatments from time to time and make sure that your loved dog of cat is free of fleas and ticks.

The best flea dips for dogs and cats are often pleasant smelling and can effectively kill the lice, gnats, ticks, and fleas that may infest or trouble your pets. Some of these products can be used on cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies that are no more than 12 weeks old. Some of these medicines are to be directly applied on the skin; as a natural corollary, these are water resistant, and inadvertent exposure to moisture would not have a negative impact on the way these deliver. Pets can be bathed even after you have applied these medicines. Most of the time, these are also easy to apply and can be stored and used over a month.

There are also some oral treatment options available that can be administered to the pets on a monthly basis to help protect them from fleas. Pet owners can use a tick collar with these medications, as the oral treatment options cannot safeguard their pets from ticks. These collars release chemicals at regular intervals that spread and mix with the pets’ hair and skin; these can be really effective and can control the flea and ticks for around 3 months.
